Members of our staff stay involved with the Girl Scouts, and many of our counselors and volunteers are or were Girl Scouts! This enables us to provide you with the exact requirements you need for your badges at camp.

Programs for Troops & Service Units

for individual troops

Campouts: Join our scheduled dates, or call April to set up a custom time specifically for your troop.
Patches: If you want to order them for your troop, this can be arranged and added to your registration fee.
T-Shirts: Available for individual purchase, but we can provide specific colors for the whole troop with advanced notice!

Come host your SU campout with us! We will help you with all the details and planning, and we can customize the session to suit your needs. Examples of what we've done:

Whether you are working on the final portion of a Journey, or are working on your Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award, Camp Tonkawa has an abundance of projects and needs that may suit your goals!

Facilities, Gear Rentals & Extras

lodging extras:

Tent Rentals: Don't have enough tents? We rent 3-man tents for $25.
Hammock Camping: We have 12 hammocks that include mosquito netting and rain flies for $15/night.
Pajama Party Building: Rent our Portable Building! $10/person (minimum $100). Includes Heat or AC. Sleeps approx 25 people.

kitchen & Cooking:

Outdoor Kitchen: Features work counters and a wash station. (Bring your own sponges and dish soap!)
Campfire Cooking: You're welcome to collect firewood from our woods for free!
Propane: If you want to use the Propane cook areas, there is a $30 tank fee.

Not Camp Certified? Teaming up with our leaders who are certified meets these requirements for your troop!

More Programs (Horsemanship, Art, Survival)

In addition to the Journey badges, troops frequently book these specialized camps:

Horsemanship Day Camps: Dates available the first Saturday of every month. (Horse club can be joined after taking this camp).
Junior Horsemanship: A shorter program specifically designed for Daisies and Brownies!
Backpacking: Call to set up a class over Spring Break or another weekend.
Other Popular Badges: Native American Indian Camp, Outdoor Cooking, Outdoor Art Badges, Primitive Survival Skills, Wildlife Camp, Basic Camping Skills.
